Seattle for a few days

Hi,

I've done a ton of searching and reading, but it can get a little overwhelming.

I'll be in Seattle for a week and was looking for a couple things to do.

1. A great vegetarian or mostly vegetarian place for lunch or dinner..

2. A seafood/fine dining place (up to 30-40 a plate) that has a vegetarian option and hopefully a good beer list. Probably looking for pretty casual. At least a place we can still hope to get into without reservations.

3. Any great/cheapish happy hour specials. I found an amazing site (sevennites.com) but im not sure how up to date it is.

4. A diner-style breakfast spot.

5. Maybe an awesome mexican or burrito place if you have one.

I will be downtown for the most part, but we would be more than willing to take a short cab ride if its worth the effort. For the most part our party has three seafood loving beer snobs, and one food loving beer neutral vegetarian. It provides for an interesting challenge.

Thanks for any help you can give me. From the looks of it there are millions of great places to go.

  1. the beer snobs would definitely enjoy Quinn's ( http://quinnspubseattle.com/menu.html for an old menu) although it has limited seafood selection. Barolo or Metropolitan for happy hour. Cascadia does a vegetarian tasting menu and Crush is another option although not particularly a beer place.

    1. all veg: my friends like Carmelita (high end).

beer: besides Quinns, many (most) restos in Seattle will have local beer on tap. you could try Red Hook Brewery, or places like HillTop Tavern or Columbia City Alehouse.

happy hour (I assume you mean with food specials): Brasa, Cascadia. For cocktails, I like Vessel and Cafe Zigzag.

Seafood: for views, Ray's boathouse. Downtown, I like Flying Fish. They will likely have thoughtful beers.

coming from Texas, I don't think Seattle has "awesome" Mexican, but it's personal preference. I like El Puerco Lloron in the market for lunch.

breakfast: Lola maybe. Le Pichet is French style, not American diner.
