Good Cantonese Food in DFW area?

I moved from San Francisco last year and really miss good Cantonese food. I've tried Dim Sum at Kirin Court, and wasn't very impressed. I've had some Chow Fun at Royal Chopsticks, and that's the closest I've gotten to "ok" Cantonese food. I'm typically in the Irving or Plano area, but I welcome recommendations for the general DFW area.

  1. LucyK,

Do a board search on First Chinese BBQ (multiple locations) and New San Dor (Plano) and you'll finds lots of info.

    1. I have lived here for 8 years. Sad to say our best dim sum is Kirin Court. I have tried Koi Palace and Joy Luck Place in the San Francisco area. There will be nothing here which comes close to that. BTW, I still believe the best dim sum is in Vancouver. As for standard Cantonese food. try New San dor in Plano. Check this restaurant out in Yelp. I just make do until I return to SF and Vancouver. First BBQ is decent for roasted meats. Their menu items are okay as well. It will stop the crave. New San Dor is the only place I know that serves the traditional Hong Kong style pan-fried noodles (Gin Mein). They also serve pretty good peking duck. BTW, don't ever try May Dragon.
