Derby Day+Mint Julep in OC?

Seeking leads on where one might find a proper mint julep in OC. In honor of Derby Day, of course.

  1. Lucille's Smokehouse

Have the Appetizer Platter which has enough food for maybe four people -- Pork rib tips, onion straws, fried okra, fried green tomatoes, Dixie egg rolls, fried dill pickles, chicken strips and a tri tip quesadilla. OMG, those fried okra, fried green tomatoes, and maybe the best item, those fried dill pickles.

    1. On a related question, where is a good place in Orange County to watch the race on Satuday? Perhaps someplace that serves mint juleps or burgoo soup.

Got a recent recco for either Memphis location -- perhaps better bet than Lucille's (I find theirs to be not very deftly made, tho I give them points for even going where most won't). Memphis has some southern dishes, but no burgoo.

You might call Iva Lee's in San Clemente about the burgoo... but I don't think they have a TV in their teensy bar. Worth a call.

go to Memphis, it's all right over there.

I'll second (or third) Memphis. Best mint julep around.

      2. Disneyland has good mint juleps...I forgot the name of the location, but it's near fried donut thingies served w/the sweet apple dipping thing. I think it's the place that has the live band every now and then.
