Any recs on Key Biscayne? Any good chowish beach bars?
We are heading to Key Biscayne for a conf. next week at the Ritz C. and have never had much luck finding any recs for restaurants on the Key. Tried some terrible sushi place on a whim last time and are now scared of trying anything else! We know there are great places for breakfast, such as Donut Gallery or Oasis (i can't wait!) but how about for a nice, or decent dinner?
Also, we would love to find a great place to grab a yummy bite and casual drink or two sitting over the water, but just don't know a place to do it (and don't say Rusty Pelican). Any suggestions for getting that beachy/ sand in your toes, ocean breeze in your hair feel that is funky and not touristy?
For high end, based on my searches, we already have reservations at Michaels Genuine!
Thanks!
I will return the favor if ya'll ever head to NC.

You don't even have to leave the Ritz to find that casual drink and food on the water. They recently opened Dune Burger Bar and it is amazing. Great cocktails and atmosphere and the burgers are excellent. I live on the Key and have been taking a walk over there every time I have went to the beach the past couple of months. The Kobe Beef Sliders are incredible. Who knows if it's really Kobe beef in those burgers but with the slice of Foie Gras on top, it doesn't even matter.

For a casual on-the-water experience, check out the Boaters Grill in Bill Baggs State Park. They serve fresh seafood and cold beer, and you'll overlook No Name Harbor while you eat.

There is a funky place right near the Pelican, down a dim lit road near the marina. Can't recall the name, but it had permanent Xmas lights, cold drinks, and a good fish sandwich. You could also venture to Scotty's Landing in Coconut Grove. No sand, but a good vibe. http://www.sailmiami.com/scottys.htm

Oh yeah, I think the place you're talking about is Jimbo's: http://www.brickellkey411.com/jimdos-...

Oh, yes, we've been to Jimbo's and will likely make a return trip this year. But I was also looking for a place a titch more upscale...although it doesn't have to be much....maybe with a real bathroom?
I am just missing the Sandbar..................
Glad to hear about the Dune Burger. All I remember from last year was REALLY expensive weak drinks at the beach bar.
Can we bike from the Ritz to the Boaters Grill?
Is the Ted's Special at D.G. as good as I remember it from my youth, or do I have to be really hungover to appreciate it? We did not make it by there last year...just Oasis every morning!
Hey, and if anyone knows anyone that rents boats on the Key with a "captain", let me know!
Thanks for the info....keep it coming!
