Three Moms Need a Night Out

Help! We are three moms of toddlers (and one very fussy newborn) who are in desperate need of a night out. We'd like nice, clean (maybe even inventive?) food and some good cocktails or wine in a setting that makes us feel like grown-ups again. One mom is vegetarian and we'd like a place that isn't such a scene that we can't hear each other talk. Some potential ideas that have been thrown out - Tailor, Suba, Employees Only. Thanks in advance for suggestions and ideas.....

  1. i think tailor is going to be a disappointment...and while employees only is ok, the drinks and bar are much better than the food.

i think perilla is a great idea for the 3 of you...just an all around solid restaurant that works in many different situations. the food is excellent, the staff is friendly and professional and it still has a buzz that makes you feel like yr going somewhere special.

blue ribbon bakery is another good idea on bedford...but i only recommend that blue ribbon. great drinks, great service, and a huge menu that is always solid.

Sam1, I think Perilla is a great idea. Unfortunately, I recently promised my husband an upcoming date night there. Any other ideas in that same vein?

perilla is wonderful and a great option, down to earth, great "scene" and fantastic food.

      2. What types of cuisines do you all like?

        1. Jarnac is a nice, quiet bistro with very good food. Snack Taverna is not as quiet but probably not noisier than Perilla. Pepolino has wonderful Tuscan food and was very quiet when we were there. Park Avenue Bistro has contemporary French and is also relatively quiet.

          1. aroma food and wine bar is a cozy, quiet spot with delicious food, and a brilliant staff. vegetarian options and a phenomenal wine list.

I think we're going to try Aroma Food & Wine Bar. Thanks for the recommendation.
