Nickies now serves brunch

Last weekend, Nickie's starting offering brunch - 10-3 Sat & Sun. We went this morning to check it out. We had the Lemon Zest Ricotta Pancakes with Strawberry Compote & the Breakfast Pizza (fontina, procuitto, egg arugula & basil). Both dishes were quite good. The yummy pancakes reminded us of the old Miss Millie's on 24th which had an awesome breakfast.

Nickie's brunch menu is small but well rounded - breakfast sandwich, eggs benedict, spinach omelette, corned beef hash, bacon & eggs, fruit, potatoes and such.

And, to state the obvious, you can have a nice mimosa with your brunch!

Since brunch service is new, it wasn't crowded so we could linger all we want. We'll definitely be brunch regulars until the hoi polloi find it and there are lines.

I only wish they had wifi so I could do my reading over breakfast.

Dinner Menu - we noticed that they have made some nice additions to their main menu, including fried chicken, an Ahi tuna dish, short ribs and blue cheese coleslaw to name a few.

PS - I loved the two dads with strollers who came in to hang & watch baseball with their kiddies. My how the neighborhood has changed since I moved here in the mid-1980s.
