Gandhi in Central Closing ..

Walked by today to see a sign in the window that said they were closing the restaurant and today would be the last day of operations. I know the restaurant has been for sale for quite some time. Just curious if anyone has heard if someone bought it or they finally just closed up shop. Heard some rumors...

  1. Hopefully a place appropriate to Central Sq. which is lacking a Thai place last I checked.

Not that either are particularly strong offerings, but there's Pepper Sky on Pearl St & Thailand Cafe (I think it is) down by the Middle East.

    2. Good riddance.

Yeah...I could never bring myself to eat at a place called Ghandi that advertised an all-you-can-eat Buffet. It could be silly of me to think that way but I think little things like that can make the difference when foot traffic is strolling down Mass Ave. deciding where they're going to eat.

I would love to see Pushpinder work his magic with this place,

heh. my only beef was that i thought it was the weakest offering of the multitude of indian restaurants in the area (to be fair, i haven't gone there in nearly 10 years for just that reason, maybe they got better)
