MSP - Cookie Cart, North Minneapolis

I was surprised when I couldn't find any mention of this place yet on here, although the search feature and I have an occasional falling out.

No need to launch into a pages long essay...basically, what you've got is a good place to buy a cookie (or 12, or 1,000) if you're in and around North Minneapolis. I sampled the oatmeal and chocolate chip, which were both good, and the peanut butter, which was downright excellent.

Great chow is made all the more sweet when you can gush about the great service. For the uninitiated, the Cookie Cart is a non-profit retail and commercial bakery that employs North Minneapolis youth (14-17 according to the brochure I picked up) and, through the work at the shop, offers them life, career and leadership skills.

At any age, and in any location, it's more and more rare to have someone stand tall, smile, and make you feel truly welcome. When the counter person had to go in the back to retrieve some of the warm cookies (in lieu of the perfectly good looking ones in the case), another employee came out, smiled, said hello/how are you, etc. before carrying on with his business. Very impressive.

That said, the bottom line for me is the chow, and it's a place I'll happily endorse for good cookies. On a side note, we had a discussion recently on here about sources for bulk cookies and they do orders as well.
