Best Restaurants for Shanks and Shins
Although it's warm today, the generally cool weather has had me in the mood for lamb shanks, osso bucco, pork shanks, beef shanks, etc. -- all the front-shin braising cuts.
It occurs to me that while some restaurants are "known" for having a really great steak or a really great pork chop, you almost never hear someone say, "You know, that place has AMAZING lamb shanks," even though that dish is on the menu at many, many restaurants. Does anyone know of any venues that are particularly good at any of these shank/shin dishes?

Crispo has a great pork shank.

If you feel like taking a ride out to Astoria, Queens...go to Kabab Cafe. Ali makes a fantastic Lamb Shank. One of his best entrees in my opinion.

I just had dinner at Market Table on Monday and really enjoyed their lamb shank. Meat fell right off the bone and it was served with tasty greens and gouda gratin. The other items we tried (gnocchi with short ribs, grilled arctic char) were also excellent.
I like the lamb shank at Landmarc better though. It's less salty, more tender and served with brussels sprouts (which I love) and delicious celery root puree.

I second the lamb shank at Market Table. Great side of au gratin potatoes too. I've also had a very good lamb shank at Blaue Gans, which were a special the last time I went.
