Bed Bath and Beyond 20% Coupons

I think we all know that BB&B will honor expired 20% coupons and that they will let you use one for each item you purchase (at least that has been my experience so far). My question is if anyone knows if they enforce the brand exceptions printed on the coupon (e.g., All-Clad, Henckels, etc.).

Thanks

  1. Probably depends on the store.

    1. Jfood did not read the coupon carefully and tried to use it for a knife. Sadly they enforced the policy.

      1. re: jfood

Why "sadly"? The store has a clearly written policy, for whatever reason -- contractual or other. Why try to get away with something by circumventing the policy?

      2. The coupon will not scan properly for the excluded brands. One really good thing - if you find something on their website that is not carried in your local store, print out the page and bring it in with the coupon. Not only will they apply the 20% discount, but they will also ship it to your home at no additional charge.

        1. re: mojoeater

That was my experience exactly. The cashier was more than happy to accept the coupon for the All-Clad, but her register wasn't. No Sale that day...

        2. They will even take Linen and Things coupons and vica versa.

          1. re: Eric in NJ

a competitor's coupon will be accepted until the expiration date. they will accept their own coupon past the exp. date.

            1. re: alkapal

You can also use Linen and Things coupons that you print off the internet. Used one a few nights ago when I couldn't find and BB&B coupons in the house.

              1. re: alkapal

Not so, they accept all anytime! Maybe L and T, but not BBand B.

            2. They will also take competitor's coupons. I have used one from macy's some time ago.

              1. I've used the BB&B 20% off on an All-Clad purchase several times with no problems. It depends on the cashier.

                1. In Chicago, it seems to be a conscious management decision to accept the coupons for anything in the store. I bought most of my Wusthof there and one piece of All Clad as well as a Global knife for a gift. The store manager even explained to me how I could order AC LTD from the website at the store and use the coupons.

                  1. re: Sam Harmon

just a guess but I wouldn't be surprised if they put the exceptions on there as a contractual thing with the allclad/wustoff companies.

                    1. re: warneral

I think so warneral. allot of places seem to have exceptions to the same companies Macy's for instance. Kind of like when Sears has grills on sale it allways excludes Weber.

                  2. Tangential to the topic, but still about BB&B: Did you know that you can buy stuff at one store and pick it up at another? When my daughter went off to college, we went to our local BB&B in Los Angeles and filled a cart with stuff, then took it to customer service and told them that we wanted to actually take delivery of the items in St. Louis. They rang up the order and we paid for it (without CA sales tax, because the goods were not for use in CA) and got a receipt. The Los Angeles store sent the order to the St. Louis store, including the date we wanted to pick it up, and returned the items to the shelves. When we got to St. Louis we went to the store and the order was ready for us to pick up -- i.e., the customer service people in St. L had gone around the store with a cart, gotten the stuff off the shelves, and had the cart waiting for us when we arrived. Needless to say, we were more than impressed with the level of service. And when my son went to college in Boston a few years later, we did the same thing and it was just as efficiently accomplished.

                    1. re: ozhead

I did the same thing when mine went to school in NC. everything was waiting for us and we did not have to fit it it my suv on the way down..

                      1. re: ozhead

Sounds like great customer service at BB&B. If nothing else, they get you into their store TWICE and they can then maybe catch you in a good mood to buy more or you'll pick up items that you may haver overlooked the previous trip. Not to mention that as a "brand", BB&B then stays in your mind until the time that you pick up your items.

                      2. On the coupons I've seen brand exceptions are listed at the bottom and they all seem to be enforced.

                        1. re: jonesm4

So are there ever 20% coupons without the exceptions to All-Clad? Cuz, dang thought I'm looking at some non-AllClad options, I figured if I did decide on AC I'd wait for a coupon.

                          1. re: marys1000

I don't think 20% off coupons, no. I have seen $ off coupons, and I don't think those have exceptions. I used a slightly expired $10 off $25 or such a while back with no trouble, though it wasn't on any of the typically restricted brands.

A couple years ago LNT gave a 20% or 25% off entire purchase with no restrictions, one-time, very short sale like one weekend. If you ever saw such a thing again, you could see if BB&B would accept it using those terms.

I have bought almost all of my All Clad from Cookware and more. They stock all clad seconds and usually you can not find the defect in the piece, mostly cosmetic. Good deals and even better if you buy 4 pieces at a time. I am not in any way associated with the store other than as a customer.

                          2. I'm a coupon-a-phobe man.

I bought my Wusthofs with a 20% off that was from 2001 and said "excluding wusthof" on there, AND i got a free gift (the promotion of a sharpening steel)...

want to know how I did it?

Had my 6foot tall legs up to her ears head turning co-worker pay for it at checkout with the male employee....

now...she didn't say, do, or act any way than professional in a business suit......I couldn't believe it.

I wish I had her in my car every time I got pulled over.
