I'm looking for chinese restaurants in NW DC that don't use MSG and Cornstarch in their soups/sauces. Please don't mention PF Changs. Thanks

Try Mr. Chen's organic. I don't know about the cornstarch (they might be able to give you options) but Iknow they don't use MSG.

yep, it is a staple! i don't know of any ill effects associated with it, do you Jacey? why no cornstarch? (i understand the msg issue....)

Maybe it's a corn allergy.
If it were me, I'd feel a lot better if it were someplace I could talk to the owner or chef, and feel sure they were listening and not just nodding their head to get me out of their face - it certainly is possible to cook Chinese dishes with sauces that reduce instead of cornstarch-thicken. MSG may be different - it's hidden in many (even most) component seasonings.
