La Petite Creperie, Woodstock

Finally, a very good restaurant in Woodstock on the square! We went for breakfast today, it was delightful. It's on an old house with the decor very french. My husband was skeptical when we walked in as it is a very pretty, chick-type place. However, it was a lot of couples also. He had the eggs benedict, which he proclaimed the best he ever had (and I make my own often!!). Their claim to fame is that everything is made from scratch, as was the hollandaise. I had the La Complete Crepe- Fried egg, w/country ham, mushrooms, Gruyere, sautéed spinach, tomato and pommes rissolées. It was absolutely wonderful. There's an assortment of fresh baked rolls. They serve breakfast on Sunday only, the rest of the week is lunch and dinner. Obviously they have crepes, but the lunch/dinner menu includes such items as a homemade pate appetizer, escargot for apps, gourmet sandwiches for lunch and rack of lamb or duck leg galatine among other things for dinner. There's always specials, too. All in all it was a flawless meal, and we will make the trip back again and again.
