what is this green, and how do I cook it?

a new mystery green?
I spotted this green on a video from the NY Times. Of course, they didn't say what is was. I'm trying to get more greens in my diet, and these look yummy, so I wanted to try it. But, I don't know what to ask for! They kind of look like a sheath of wheat, but totally green, and the head part is flat. Some kind of asparagus, maybe?

AND, once I find it, any ideas on the best way to cook it?

    1. The photograph looks like nothing I've seen before - except a sheaf of new wheat, as you suggest. There are more expert hounds than I here. Keep trying.
