Smorgasbord
Does anyone know of a restaurant in the GTA that has a smorgasbord (or its Finnish equivalent, seisotapoyta - I think I spelled that correctly, but I'm not sure)?
There used to be a few in Manhattan that I enjoyed, but I have yet to find one in or around Toronto.

Not a lot of Finn in TO, Ontario, Canada?!
Once was at Restaurant Aquavit in manhatten and had herring way too many ways for breakfast. (This may have been swedish & not finnish? I do not fully understand the difference.)
If you want true Finnish in Ontario, then you will likely need to drive several hours north to Sault Ste Marie and invite yourself into some ones home! The Soo is the only large population of Finns I am aware of close to Toronto (worked at Agony Steel for a few years a while back). So I claim you are out of luck looking in T.O.
(Google also seems to imply a large population in the LakeHead area as well).
I suggest you google "finnish sault ste marie" and fire off a bunch of emails to someone who may actually know!

Another way to get Finnish food is to drive as far as Thunder Bay. As I understand it, about 10% of the population is of Finnish origin. You don't have to invite yourself to anyone's home, just visit the Hoito restaurant there. It's a co-op that has been there for 90 years, and serves a large variety of Finnish foods.

Perhaps of interest, if not actually answering the question:

Sudbury also has at least one Finnish bakery.

There used to be a few Danish restos (Copenhagen Room; Erik the Red), but they are long gone. The owner of the Danish bakery on Kingston Rd near Vic Park may be able to tell you whether any still exist. I don't know of any Finish or Swedish options around Toronto.
