Underdog

My friend and I went to Underdog yesterday while we were waiting for some other folks to show up and then go to a BBQ...but we were so hungry. I literally live around the corner from here and haven't been yet! It is a tiny little place with everything in there being organic. Their drinks, the condiments, chips, snacks, and peanut butter cups/desserts, too.

We ordered their tater tots, and also a fireroasted red pepper chicken sausage. We split it and salted the tots, which only took a few minutes to be ready. The sausage was delicious, smoky, hot, and very juicy. We ordered it on a whole wheat bun which was also equally delicious. It was sturdy, not dry, and held the sausage up well, added to the entire flavor profile, which was nice. The tater tots were hot and delicious, not something I would ordinarily order, but glad I did.

They have a nice selection of pork, chicken, and all beef hot dog, and vegan sausages that you can eat there at a few tables, or outside bench (with tv dinner trays to pull up). You can also take the sausages to go, and if you are as impressed as I was, you can grab a few to cook at home or another bbq. We did just that and ended up with an Andouille chicken sausage that was spicy and delicious, as well as two feta and spinach chicken sausages. I have to say the roasted red pepper was my favorite, but the sausages all in all were absolutely wonderful.

        1. bombastic!!! this place is fantastic!!! thank you for the recommendation..... i had the veggie italian on white bun and tater tots and husband had the fire roasted red pepper with lettuce and a small mix fresh green salad w/ sesame goddess dressing. AMAZINGLY DELISH!!! this tiny place is like a part of the farmers market that's located permanently in the inner sunset. Must Go and try, because this place is one in the million.

          1. definitely like this place, they source their ingredients themselves from organic farmers and ranchers. Sausage are nice and juicy, though not quite as big and plump as say Top Dog, but equally satisfying. I think it's cheaper than rosamunde too.
