Anyone have an idea about where I can get the best burrito in Boston?
How about Mexican Food? I've tried a few places but just can't seem to find anything decent.

i agree el pelon is best for burritos and also like boca grande and taqueria mexicana. for mexican food i like tu y yo, but the board seems heavily divided on it. i also like some of the dishes at forest cafe. for really downscale, simple mexican, taqueria mexicana is pretty good.

You may laugh. You may even mock me. But the best burrito (and tacos) around are at a place in Roslindale called Romano's Pizza.
I kid you not. They have separate Mexican cooks for the Mexican side of their menu. And it's really, really good.
Really.
Oh, almost forgot. For another hidden jewel, try Mexican take-out from the Grampy's Gulf station on Beacon Hill.

YumYum, I tried it the other day after someone replied to my OP and said it was worth trying. It was surprisingly good! And the sauce was excellent.
Then again, maybe it just rose above my expectations for gas station take-out. But again, I thought it was really tasty food. From what I understand, the offerings change fairly frequently. The day I was there, it was burritos, a chicken mole, and some sort of pocket-thingy (kind of like an oversized empenada).
Still think Romano's Pizza has better burritos and tacos though. As odd as that might seem.

Romano's makes very good burritos. Their tamales are better, especially the pork ones. But when I'm there, all the cooks are Mexican.

This is the topic where I always throw Viva Burrito into the mix because I feel that they get no love... mainly because it's in a culinary wasteland on Staniford St between Beacon Hill and North Station.
Yes I like Anna's, yes I like El Pelon and Boca Grande. I just find the ingredients and execution at Viva to be superior. The Cajun Chicken Burrito with SC, Guac, and Cheese is something I find myself dreaming about (which is especially rough now that I'm not eating meat). If you haven't tried this place out... please add it to your todo lists. Maybe hit up the other BH spots (Grampy's?) near by and do a taste off.

I haven't had a Viva burrito since they stopped delivery service. Which is kind of stupid, since I work about a 5-minute walk away.
If I wasn't going to Grotto's "Big Night" tonight, I'd definitely be up for a Viva/Grumpy's burrito tour.

Are you sure they stopped doing delivery? I got delivery to Fort Point in November and they still mention it on their website.

Wow, maybe they've started it up again. It was definitely not offered for some time though. I'll try a delivery this weekend.
Update: after going on their website, it does indeed say "Delivery Now Available." (It should say "Delivery Now Available Again.")

My new obsession is Chipotle in Medford. The food is great and the atmosphere is perfect for lunch. They could use a bit of help in the speed department, but I know they are still training the staff, so I give them the benefit of the doubt.
