TV mix variations?
I'm going make up a batch of TV mix, which I adore, for New Year's snacking...I usually do the traditional butter, worcestershire sauce, wheat chex, rice chex, peanuts and pretzels.
Has anyone added other tasty spices or crunchy ingredients? I'm not a big fan of cheese crackers. I'm thinking savory, but I could do a sweet and a savory for extra fun!

Maybe some of those little chili rice crackers. That would work for me!

This last time I used Pretzel crisp (like a light and airy pretzel) that I found at sam's club and they were a big hit!
And I use mixed nuts.

If you have a Trader Joe's accessible you might consider their wasabi crackers.

David Lebovitz posted his favorite snack mix on his website recently...I'm hoping to try it for New Year's. Here's the link:

The combo of nuts and pretzels with brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon and cayenne, and salt sounds really great. I love the combo of sweet/salty/hot.

Check the Web sites for both Crispix and Chex, and you'll find lots of sweet and savory recipes. For example, here's one with bacon drippings and maple syrup: http://www2.kelloggs.com/Recipe/Recip...

I'm a big fan of mixing spicy (chili sauce), salty (salted nuts, pretzels or better yet, sesame sticks), and sweet (raisins or other dried fruit). You can add in popcorn or cereal - my fave is Quaker Corn Bran.
