Jules Thin Crust opening in Newtown?
My husband and I are moving to Newtown and friends who live in the area told us that Jules Thin Crust in Doylestown is opening a second location in Newtown. This would be very exciting news, if it's true.
Has anyone else heard this rumor? I checked their Web site and didn't see anything in the "news" section about this.

You are correct. I know the plans have been in the works for a while. I have a good feeling it is going where the tea house is, next to Rita's waterice. People I have talked to would not disclose the true location. I live there as well and there is not one good pizza place in the area.

This is good news and bad news. Good that they'll be opening in Newtown but bad because if the location is still a secret it doesn't sound like they'll be open for business anytime soon.
I'm disheartened to hear there are no good pizza places in the area. I always make my own pizza at home, but I need a source for dough.

Sometimes you can find it a the farmers Market in Newtown. They are only opened Thurs, Fri, and Sat. Most of the pizza places have these young kids making the pizzas, and don't take it seriously. If you want to make it home I have a good recipe that is very easy to make at home if you have KitchenAid. You are very close to the new Wegmans, I know they have it. It comes frozen, but it is already cut to size, you just have roll it out.

We do homemade pizza every Friday so maybe I'll luck out and find it at the farmer's market. Or the Wegman's.
I guess I could make my own dough (I've done it before) but I'm spoiled right now since I live near an Italian's Peoples Bakery in NJ. Their dough is excellent and saves me so much time. All I have to do is roll it out, add the toppings and bake.

I know where it will be... It is going in the old Goodnoes lot at Sycamore and Durham Road. And I am happy to share this and am excited about the prospect but cannot agree that there are no good pizza parlors in Newtown. Picollo Tratorria is very good as is Tre Fratelli and Dolce Vita.

Really? That's great!! My husband and I were wondering what would be going into that space. We live right down the street.

Jules' e-newsletter sent out on February 13 still says "opening soon" about its Newtown location. Also indicates more locations in the future. Guess they're going to franchise.

I sure as hell hope they franchise. I'll be first in line for one here in the West Chester area.
