Savory strudel and walnut crusts...
Two questions: Does anyone have a great recipe or idea for a savory strudel? Looking for appetizers I can freeze and bake off later. I already have a mushroom-y dish, so I would rather avoid mushroom strudels, and I'm just drawing a blank on other ideas.
I also am looking for a recipe for a really good walnut crust to use for an caramelized onion tart. Something that is not TOO delicate (don't want it to disintegrate when I cut into it), but has a more interesting flavor/texture than a standard pie crust shell. I've had bad luck with walnut crusts in the past - lovely for minis or individual portions, but too delicate for slicing. But I'm convinced there's a good recipe out there somewhere.
Thanks in advance.

My local bakery makes spinach and feta streudel -- sort of like spanikopita. You could probably use any recipe for spanikopita filling.

hi, i might not be much help, but Molly Katzen has excellnet crust recipes for savory dishes in her Enchanted Broccoli Forest cookbook. I have used them all with much success. I wish I could be more specific, but my book is not with me.
