What's My Craving?

FOR YOU PEOPLE THAT LOVE GREEN APPLE MENTOS.

Hi! it's halloween today, went out and did some naught stuff with my friends, while we got candy.(i.e. throwing eggs.)Yet the strangest thing happened. My friends cousin threw his halloween goodie bag on the street and I happened to pick up a peculiar looking pack of mentos. Its size is half a lighter. It contains 6 pieces of mentos. Out in the night when I picked it up it was a blueish color, so I assumed it as mint. When i deposited it in my room, I noticed, hey! its green! the wrapper around the tube, has one sentence written in japanese right above the NTOS. and above the ME there is E and 10,5 G written on it. The word MENTOS repeats itself three times down the wrapper. Each one has Green apple written in another language. The first one says Appeldragees, then its bonbons croque-tendres aroma pomme(accent mark over the o in aroma), the third one says apfeldragees. All these titles have ingredients written in their respective language, though right under the apfeldragees, it says in the same red color as the other language title of green apple, Chewy apple flavoured sweets. It then has the ingredients written in english. OH MAN AM I GETTING A HANKERING FOR THESE. IM SO GLAD MY FRIENDS COUSIN DROPPED IT OR MORE LESS THREW IT AND I PICKED IT UP. MMMMMM....

P.S. the cover art looks much better then the original mentos, has these shiny green morsels of mentos like youre looking in a bucket full of them.

  1. Ok...think, think...where did your cousin's friend get this bag of Mentos? The fact that it appears in three languages doesn't make me feel good but I'm ready to hunt it down in NYC if I have to.

I'm about to finish the few tubes my colleague brought back from Paris. So...I can feel the shakes already if I don't get my hands on some more. Any more info would be greatly appreciated.

I really dont remember as we hit everyone in the block, but since I never saw anyone strange, it must of been a common person. Now what I want to know, is what a common person is doing, giving out candy from Japan or France or god knows where. If she got is that easily, probably trick or treat shopping, maybe one of my local stores got it.

Why does the language of your original description make me think that you're not really a kid throwing eggs, but a professor of popular culture or something at a university?

        1. re: dragees

Actually, I thought he sounded more like an operative for Mentos' parent corporation.

well we gave out mini-Cherry Ripes from Australia since that's all we had.

In November I found some of the mini tubes of Green Apple Mentos at a candy store in the Brussels Midi train station. Oddly, it was very exciting after having read all these silly posts. I can't bring myself to eat them now; I feel they are somehow very valuable.

Now I am in Singapore, and in our cafeteria they have the full tubes of Green Apple Mentos. Wow, I'm rich. They also have some 'Barley Mint' Mentos, whatever that is.

        4. IM very observative, I throw eggs, but hey, IM GRADE A in the Report cards too, people call me the Genius. I got a 99 IN MATH WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?

          1. They have the green apple mentos at Healthy Pleasures on the Upper West Side at the checkout counter, sans the Japanese writing. I bought them out of curiousity after reading this. Maybe I'm in sugar overload after halloween, but they didn't taste much different from green apple Now and Laters to me.
