Lenox/Berkshires Dining suggestions
Sorry to post another request because I know there have been alot lately on this area but really need suggestions for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Will be meeting friends there for a long weekend and don't want to use up too much time trying to find places to eat. Prefer great food (of course), and of course atmosphere would be good too. Thanks for any suggestions. No ethnic food.

Church Street Cafe in Lenox...check out their website...menus are posted.

Leaving for Berkshires tonight to eat!!!!
Dinner tonight is at Chez Nous in Lee,Ma.
Outstanding food and great personal service.
Cafe Lucia is also another fine choice(dinner there tomorrow night).
Their Osso Bucco is great.
Wheatleight,in Stockbridge, is a great, expensive place to find food.
Strictly gourmet but very pricy.
Avoid Cafe' Zinc in Lenox if possible.
Miserable staff,lousy service ,ect.
Another fine choice is John Andrews in Egremont.
Ate their last week.
Some ofthe best food in the Berkshires.
For breakfast there is nothing that outstanding.
Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge is quaint and good.
Carol's in Lenox is a good local hangout.
Sunday brunches,if available, are good especially at the Cranwell Resort.
Good Luck!

I disagree about a good breakfast place. Dish in Lenox is great - Cafe Reva in Pittsfield (on Tyler St.) is wonderful. Carols I won't recommend because of sanitation issues I had on my last visit.

I, too, feel that the quality of Carol's breakfast has gone down.

You folks may be right about Carol's.
I've never had a problem there but I haven't been there for a couple of months now.
Also I screwed up a couple of places.
When we got to Chez Nous on Friday night(2/24) we found a note saying that they were closed for a month or more.
We went to Cafe' Lucia, where we planned to eat Saturday night, and we had a great meal there.
Rabbit in pasta sauce was out-of-this-world!
I wanted the Osso Bucco but the dish was not offered.
The owner told us after dinner that the cost of veal had skyrocketed and it would cost over $50 for that dish right now so he took it off the menu but he hoped to add it for special occasions later this year.
The dish takes days to preopare and if you don't get enough orders for it it's moeny down the drain.
I understood what he was saying ----but I sure miss it!

Just saw your post. Note that Wheatleigh is in Lenox, not Stockbridge. The cuisine is superb!

Actually technically Wheatleigh is considered Stockbridge. Know a house down the street on Wheatleigh drive and address is Stockbridge. Yes it is closer to the village of Lenox though. Great place! Just a special place...food in the library - not the main dining room is just as good and a lot less expensive.

Can't agree with your condemnation of Bistro Zinc. We've eaten there many times and enjoyed each visit. Noisy is a complaint I'll consider though it has never been really excessive. As far as Red Lion is concerned, I stick to the tavern room. The main dining room is a bit much. Quality vs price not there I feel. Quaint it is though, I'll give you that.

see my post above about trattoria rustica. it's about 10 minutes north of lenox. absolutely amazing. in lenox, i'd recommend dish, although if you want to drive out up rt 7 a bit, i really like bob's country kitchen. it's about 30 minutes north of lenox.
whatever you do stay away from fin. absolutely awful overpriced sushi. i live in manhattan and have only seen $9 california rolls at the most upscale of the upscale sushi places (if they even have them). if you want sushi in the area, id suggest bizen in great barrington.
and, for a wonderful dining experience, try and go to the inn at gedney farm in monterey (or egremont, not sure which).
