  1. If you can wait til you get there.

    1. re: DT

Don't think the Flying Goose does breakfast. IMHO, the Foothills in Warner is the ONLY place. Easy on and easy off I-89, too...

    2. For breakfast there is the Foothills Cafe in Warner NH exit 8 on I-89, not too far from Sunapee. Giant pancakes and stickey buns.

      1. The McDonald's right off of 89 in Warner is the best I have ever been to. No, not kidding, food is always fresh and hot at the drive through window. Can't screw up an egg mcmuffin - which is my breakfast of choice while on the road before a day of snowboarding.

It does meet the "nothing fancy" requirement but probably not what you are looking for though.

        1. Foothills has a great reputation for breakfast. Another idea would be the Concord NH area:
-Sandwich Depot on Hall St in Concord (stay on Rt 93 to exit 13, take left off ramp - go under bridge and take left just past the Burger King. This is Hall Street. Sandwich Depot will be on your right. After grabbing food, continue on Hall St to junction of Rt 3A and end of Rt 89. Just drive across intersection and you're on Rt 89 north)
-Einstein Bagel Bros is located off exit 14 in same building complex as Boston Market Chicken. Coming off highway, drive across intersection. It's right on your right. (Fort Eddy Rd)
-Downtown Concord NH, some of the sandwich places don't open very early so depends on your timing. Take exit 13 as directed above. Continue north driving past Common Man Restaurant. This becomes Main Street. On right watch for Bread and Chocolate. Incredible pastries and great sandwiches made on their bread. Continuing north on your right there is also Bagel Works. There are several sandwich shops on Main Street. You could grab a breakfast sandwich at Burger King or MacDonalds and then stop at a sandwich shop.
-My vote for best Sandwich in Concord NH would be In a Pinch Cafe but I don't think they have breakfast sandwiches. From Rt 89 take exit (may 2) for Clinton St. I think it would be a right off the ramp heading toward downtown Concord. Take left onto Fruit St as if you are heading to the hospital. The next intersection is a 5 way, so take your immediate right onto Pleasant St. The cafe is on your left, not far from the intersection. They open very early and have a small eat in section. Mostly they do take out. Their soups are all homemade and sandwiches are great.
