Looking for jicama

I want to make a salad using jicama, but I can't find one anywhere (I've looked over the past several days at Whole Foods, Shaw's in Porter, TJs, the Foodmaster in Somerville). Does jicama have a "season" that's now over? Was there an unreported jicama blight? Has anyone bought it locally recently?

  1. Russo's of Watertown has jicama year-round.

    1. I don't know where you live, but many local bodegas in neighborhoods with a Latino population will have jicama. Tropical Foods in Dudley Sq. will always have it, as will the Hi-Lo market in J.P. the 2 Stop & Shop grocery stores that I frequent in J.P and Everett also often have it.

      1. Try Market Basket on Somerville Ave.
