Adapted from "Field Guide to Cocktails" by Rob Chirico
This creamy after-dinner cocktail is an adaptation of a gin-based cocktail named the Bee’s Knees. While both are shaken with honey, this version has rum swapped in for the gin, and uses heavy cream instead of lemon juice. Try it as a nightcap with a classic holiday dessert like our apple pie recipe.
- 1 1/2 ounces light rum
- 1 ounce heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon honey
- Whole nutmeg, for grating
1Place a cocktail glass in the freezer to chill.
2Place the rum, cream, and honey in a cocktail shaker. Add ice to fill the shaker halfway, cover, and shake until the outside is frosted, about 30 seconds.
3Strain into the chilled glass and top with freshly grated nutmeg.
