Zucca & Auberage Winterlicious

Went to Zucca and Auberage for Winterlicious ( first time at both) and I was looking forward to visiting Auberage after all the excellent reviews on this board. In short, a better time and meal was had at Zucca. Both my SO and I found the food at Zucca to be tastier. We tried different dishes at both restaurants. Favorite dishes at Zucca included the carpaccio salad, fillet of grouper, venison, golden delicious baked apple, hearty Italian bread. At Auberage my SO enjoyed her salad, but the puree soup was disappointing. The pork loin and salmon was nothing special (fresh pepper was offered at Zucca but not at Auberage which would have helped). Disappointing bread. The dessert was a chocolate cake my SO enjoyed but we both thought the lemon tart had no zing and was just ordinary. Both places were busy, and overall the service was polite attentive, though after taking our orders the waiter at Auberage came back 2 minutes later and gave the soup spoon to my SO who ordered salad and I received the salad fork for my soup. We ordered coffee and dessert at Auberage, but we had to wait sometime before we received the coffee. First impressions? Disappointed in Auberage, enjoyed Zucca.
