just a note to all-

my favorite favorite ethiopian place in new york, AWASH-located on 106th/Amsterdam- has finally opened a new branch in the east village by curry row, on 6th st just west of 1st avenue. and believe me, i looooooooooove ethiopian food.

so far i've been twice and the food is as great as uptown- except nobody seems to have discovered it yet.

it could be because the 'digs' are a little shabbier than uptown~ but i highly recommend ppl brave the dark ambience and try it, esp. if you love ethiopian food (or if you've never tried it, think of a spin on middle eastern food w/ a kick and spongy 'injera' bread made of teff).

as the e. village is much easier to get to than 107th/amsterdam, i really don't want this place to close, esp. because their food is so excellent. try it! & let me know what you guys think. (ps. portions are huge)
