Had dinner at Yuet Lee for the first time in a while. Ordered a bunch of old favorites: salt and pepper squid, clams in black bean sauce, fresh and dried squid, catfish hot pot. All were good but the cooking was a notch down from (many, many) previous visits. Maybe the place changed hands or the chef retired or something?
Tried Yoogo Gelato for dessert. Tasted a number of things, tropical flavors stood out. The coconut has flavor as good as Mitchell's but much better texture. The ginger was the most intense ginger dessert I've ever tasted--it seriously burned, like hot salsa.
Walking by Andrew Jaeger's House of Seafood and Jazz (New Orleans place in the old Condor at Columbus & Broadway) I noticed that they're offering a $20 five-course crab dinner Mondays from 5:30 to 11pm. Also I think Wednesdays and Fridays a steak and lobster dinner for the same price.
