Alex

Seems we both hail from the same part of the North.

Reminds me of a mispent youth chasing down pints of Theakston's Old Peculiar, Wards, Tim Taylors, Trophy ( the pint that thinks it's a quart ) and proper Stones.

I too am heading oop north sometime soon to revisit some old haunts and will no doubt have some good beer, some fantastic fish and chips ( mushy peas not optional ) and visit the last tripe shop in England on Rotherham High St for a slab of roast udder

The Sun has set on Lambs Conduit st. It is still there but very much a shadow of it's former self.

I can heartily recommend a newish place called The Steam Engine which, although in the unfortunate location at the front of the forecourt in Euston Station, has some of the best beers in town.
