We will be in NYC Christmas week, our five-year-old's first trip (we have been many times). While we have not hesitated to break out our wallet for fine food experiences, we somehow couldn't see the staff (and particularly the other customers) at, say, Cello, warming to the sight of a small, mischevious boy.
Conversely, the kid is a champion eater. One of us. Clams on the half shell, white truffle pasta, sushi -- all gobbled down with great enthusiasm. I am convinced he learned to read early so he could decipher a menu.
So. Where should we take him where we can eat wonderfully, money unimportant (holiday splurge) but a vibe that won't be frosty to the little guy? Important distinction -- NOT A RESTAURANT GEARED TOWARDS KIDS -- just one in which he will be reasonably welcome.
Thanks in advance...
