We will be in Lyon for three nights including New Year's Ever. We will hit some of the gourmet places for other meals, so for NYEve our preference would be someplace "fun" rather than with a food pedigree. Our plan would be to book for dinner at 9 and either stay at our dining venue for conviviality and a toast at midnight, or--if there's something to do in town, like fireworks, etc--take to the street to join the melee. Is anyone familiar with Lyon for NYEve able to advise us of places to dine and things to do that will provide the kind of thing we're looking for? And if that's not available, can someone at least recommend a fun, convivial restaurant that will likely be open on NYEve where we can make our own fun? Thanks for your help.
P.S. I'm certainly open to suggestions for our other meals as well. We'll be staying in city center area by Place Bellecour. We'll probably do one super-duper splurge and the rest we're just looking for good, Lyonnais food. Last time we were in Lyon we ate at Tassee, La Voute/Chez Lea, and Bistro Francotte. (Depending upon amount of info I get from this post, I may repost a more general question re: dining in Lyon to smoke out more.)
