Does anyone know the whereabouts of David Karp, aka The Fruit Detective?
A one-time columnist for the LATimes food section with incredible profiles of - you guessed it - fruit, Karp was profiled by John Seabrook in the August 2002 New Yorker food issue.
Since the LATimes redesign, however, the fruits of Karp's labor, so to speak, have dried up on the pages of our local Tribune Co.-owned outpost save for his byline at the end of a short listing of regional farmer's markets and their hours.
Any word as to why his Times pieces are no longer gracing the pages of the Food section, and any word as to where one might find his writings these days?
