A remarkable truck, owned by a 32 year old Chicago native, daily parks in the lot of "Blue Mount" Nursery on route 7 about two miles west of the intersection with route 28. This is the LAST place on the face of the earth (Ashburn!?!?!) that one would expect to find an authentic Chicago hot dog. Yet it delivers: Vienna beef on a poppy seed bun with celery salt, neon green sweet pickle relish, sport peppers, chopped onion, a dill pickle wedge, yellow mustard and a slice of tomato. He is passionate and delivers a hot dog that for all the world tastes exactly like it would taste if his truck was parked across from Schaumburg Mall!!
This is his website: www.windycityredhots.com
This is the website of Vienna Beef who supply his hot dog and his condiments: http://www.viennabeef.com/
He is also active on twitter, myspace and facebook with links on his website.
I should note here that I found this truck because my wife is seriously into gardening and Blue Mount is one of the best nurseries in the greater D. C. area. Now that I know about the hot dog truck I am more than willing to be her grunt in carrying bags of soil, plants, flowers and whatever else home.
