I couldn't stand it any longer, so I stopped in this morning at "Woody Brown's Old Southern BBQ and Fried Chicken" on Northampton St. I met the proprietor, a very nice, youngish, earnest fellow named Dave. He said they expected the city health inspection today and that they hope to open on Wednesday.
I tried to press him for details on what type of BBQ he'll be serving, North Carolina? Texas?, but he wasn't very forthcoming. He did categorize it as "deep south" style. I asked "ribs, pulled pork?" he sort of nodded yes. He hasn't yet printed up menus, so I only have a vague sense of what to expect.
I do have a good feeling after meeting him. He stressed that all food will be fresh and freshly prepared.
I'll be sure to stop in once they're open.
