whining about Hi-Rise

Ok, I'm sure I'm not the first to register these complaints, but I've just got to get this off of my chest. I met a friend at Hi-Rise on Concord Ave in Cambridge yesterday for coffee. Haven't been there in a dog's age. Good coffee, but........NO PUBLIC RESTROOM???? How in the world did/do they get away with this? Isn't there a law/ordinance saying restaurants must have a public restroom? It's not like it's completely a takeout joint: they have a fair amount of seating and signs posted EVERYWHERE prohibiting cell phone use. Doesn't this mean they expect people to sit and stay a bit? And yet, NO RESTROOM>!>!>
Maddening.

I grabbed a sandwich to go for lunch before leaving....the turkey reuben. This was a very large sandwich, I can't complain about the portion/price ratio (sandwich was something like $8.25 or something in that range). Very thick slices of seedless rye (very slightly grilled), very fresh of course, with a lot of white meat turkey also freshly roasted and sliced. The disappointment for me came in the relative lack of flavor of the rest of the toppings. The cheese seemed to be minimal. Cole slaw was crunchy but flavorless. I once got a taste of dressing, but it was almost completely missing. The texture of the sandwich is very nice, but there's almost no flavor, at least to these taste buds.

Last pet peeve.......no sides even available at this place? I am one of these people who likes some chips, or a pickle, or SOMETHING alongside my sandwich. Not only do they not include this in your order, it's not even available for separate purchase.

Can you tell I won't be going back there soon? It's a beautiful place, very well presented, but the substance leaves something to be desired, at least on this visit.
