Tried Europane Bakery (Pasadena) today. Their multigrain bread has a nice, light quality, not like the doorstops some multigrain breads can be. It does contain about 25% white flour and 12 grains, including whole wheat, and a sourdough starter, no sugar. I desire 100% whole grain flour, but this was a tasty, pretty close solution. I will surely return.
We also tried a vanilla raspberry tart, very creamy filling, but a surprisingly savory seeming crust (good, though!). Just that I bit into the crust first and almost thought it would be a quiche. My son loved it, and for 11 he has a fairly sophisticated palate for desserts.
I will continue my bread tasting journey and report back.
