Wharo Korean BBQ

Had lunch Saturday. The decor is clean, bright, with just a few asian touches. At first glance, the menu for lunch looked very pricey. Every entree is $20.00. My wife ordered the Mung Bean Pancake a la carte and I ordered the Galbi. The owner brought out a large salad bowl and 2 plates (without even asking). He brought out 6 veggie Panchan, 2 bowls of rice and fired up the grill (gas). He put the meat on the grill in all of its marbled glory. The meat is precut so no scissors here. I made sure it cooked no more than 1 minute on each side and we traded bites of tender flavorful juicy galbi. I have had the galbi at Tahoe in Koreatown and cooked it over real coals. The miniscule amount of flavor that the coals add in the brief time that the meat is on the grill is not worth the effort. Their meat comes from Koreatown and the grills are from Korea. We also grilled the tomato, onion and pepper. We finished the bowl of salad and it was taken away and refilled also without asking. The pancake came later and it was also quite enjoyable. We will be back soon. $25.00 before tip.
