Recent West LA Burgers I Have Known

Finally stopped in to Literati II, (on the Northeast corner of Bundy and Wilshire adjacent to the Ralph's Market) for one of their burgers. Cooked to a perfect medium rare with white cheddar and grilled onions...this was a great burger and the fries are good to very good with an enormous amount of them.

Hard to get a bite it is so large, but I managed the feat, (g). Nieman Ranch beef, juicy and flavorful. Not inexpensive, but with the prices of burgers at other near by places like Bandera in the same range this left me feeling like it was a good deal. The outside patio is nice, if a bit noisy even with the fence they put up and the inside room is also comfortable and attractive.

The week before we dropped in to the SF Saloon on Pico just west of Sawtelle about a block or so on the North side of the street. They also know how to cook their burgers and it was quite fine with a bunch of different varities with guacamole and/or ortega chilies and/or cheese and/or bacon and the fries, while not crispy, are also nicely done.

We will be going back again soon to try some of their other offerings. Their "Happy Hour" prices on beer and drinks is good until 7 p.m. with my Sierra Nevada on tap running only $3.50 when we ate about 6:45 p.m.
