my wife and i ate breakfast at the west hill grill on patton yesterday. while nothing extraordinary, it was fairly good, cheap ($11 for both of us including coffee and tip), hot and filling on a cool morning.
my wife had scrambled eggs, bacon, grits and biscuits with gravy. she enjoyed all and said the grits were good, as were the biscuits and gravy.
i had scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes and pancakes. my eggs were cooked just right, a surprise given that mine usually come out overdone as my wife likes hers vulcanized and mine seem to be so by default when we both order them. the sausage was nothing impressive, typical bulk sausage way over-cooked in the southern style. the potatoes were simply pan-fried with onions, nothing fancy but tasty. the pancakes, however, were the star. huge, light and fluffy - they were very good.
minor complaint was the pancakes were served with spread, not butter (doesn't really matter to me as i don't use it).
comparison-wise on par, if not better than, moose cafe and cracker barrel. the price is definitely right for a quick breakfast.
