Weiler's Deli, Woodland Hills - Great!

The family happened to be in Woodland Hills (Canoga Park?) tonight and we ended up at Weiler's Deli at the corner of Victory and Canoga. I thought I knew most of the delis in the L.A. area, but this was a new one for me. I even did a Chowhound search before posting and found nothing. All I can say about Weiler's: TERRIFIC!

It may not reach Langer's Nirvana (the sandwiches are machine sliced), but it was great nonetheless. Two sky high corned beef sandwiches (wife and mom), one equally large pastrami (me), and a huge kid's meal burger for the little guy. Burger came with the best seasoned steak fries I've ever had - and I'm not a fries fan.

Sandwiches were $9.25 (or maybe 9.75 - wife paid), and the kid's burger was $6.25. Service was cordial and efficient, the place was clean, and the ambience was 60s deli/coffee shop.

The only downside (apart from it being on the opposite end of town for me), was seeing a commercial plastic label on the pumpkin pie in the rotating dessert window while we were leaving. The other desserts looked fine in that huge deli/Greek diner kind of way.

So...I'm not sure if I'd make a special trip if other delis are closer (Langer's, Greenblatt's, Billy's and yes, even the decent if not pantheon Canter's), but I'd definitely go if in the area.
