Had a great day at the Wegman's Culinary Festival in Allentown on Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of booths representing numerous restaurants and vineyards. In fact, I ended up buying a nice rose from Blue Mountain vineyards and a mix of reds of theirs called Meritage.
I tried a great shredded roast pork sandwich from a local catering company, some lovely, huge vegetable samosas from an Indian catering company (just a catering company, alas, no restaurant) and a terrific gnocchi with goat cheese and duck confit (made with Chinese 5 spice) from The Farmhouse in Emmaus.
I especially loved the food from The Farmhouse. Does anyone know anything else about that restaurant? How fancy is it?--reservations, jacket and tie, etc.? Is it worth the trip out from Easton when we are next visiting my boyfriend's parents?
And did anyone else have any comments about the festival?
