Hi all, I'm a bit behind in my research and already here in Rome! I arrived today, but was feeling under the weather so decided to stay in and recover so I can make the most of the remaining days, but I also missed out on a day of food! I will need to cram as much as possible in Friday - Monday.
I noticed reservations are recommended at most CH-popular restaurants. Is this also necessary for a single diner? I did read PixieM's reports and she seemed to only mention reservations when her husband was in town.
Most recommendations that I've read are for restaurants in general, but I'd like to ask for specific Roman/Italian dishes and where best to experience them. Is there something in particular that is in season right now?
I *think* the following are considered local dishes. Please correct me if I'm wrong and if not, please recommend your favorite restaurant for each:
- cacio e pepe
- bucatini all’amatriciana
- spaghetti alla carbonara
I'd like to try Steve R's recommendation of pajata at Perilli. I can't seem to find a website to see reservation availability though?
I will be heading to the Vatican tomorrow and will stop by Pizzarium since pizza is also on my list.
And one non-food related question if anyone knows... The Galleria Borghese has availability almost all day on Saturday, and it's free! Which makes me wonder if something else going on in the city or if certain exhibits are unavailable this Saturday?
Thanks for your time!
