Wedding food.

My fiance and I are having a casual Brooklyn wedding this fall. At this point I think we have to throw in the towel on the whole wedding catering world -- i left the last tasting in tears after choking down obscenely expensive mystery meat canapes that i wouldn't inflict on those really mean relatives who didn't make the guest list. We love to cook and eat good food, and simply can't imagine not offering some to our guests (even those who won't appreciate it), but don't have the resources for high-end catering. I'm wondering if anyone has advice to offer from personal experience re restaurants that do on-site catering. We have very eclectic tastes and are looking to strike a balance of flavorful ethnic and pedestrian-recognizable. We can't spend more than $70/ head on food, staff and rentals. To give a sense of our palate, our standard dining out rotation includes Sripaphai, 360, various South Indian restaurants in Manhattan and Queens, Zaytoon's, and Vietnamese sandwich shops.
