Webster's Fish Hook, take 2

Since I slammed this place in a recent post, I thought it only fair to report a better experience when I found it. I was passing through the other day, in a hurry but in need of a protein fix, and got a small order of their fish nuggets to go. These are the leftover bits from cod and haddock that has been cut for other purposes (not the fast-food travesty of frozen minced fish that often goes under the same name). They came breaded, deep-fried and packaged up with a wedge of lemon and a little container of tartar sauce. I swapped the tartar for salt, applied salt and lemon, got my car moving and got down to business. And they were fine, fresh and hot. The breading, while slightly denser than I usually like, was crisp and golden brown, not at all greasy. So somebody there knows how to work a fryolator. And I should know better than to condemn a place on a single tasting.

BTW, their menu includes broiled and baked stuffed dishes in addition to the fried, steamed clams, lobster and such. One of these days I'll stop in for a plate of broiled fish, just to see.
