Had a nice work dinner at this restaurant. They have a prix-fixe meal - appetizer/main/dessert - for $35. Supplements apply to expensive foods like foie gras and lobster.
Overall, the food was excellent for a $35 meal. The place was very empty on a Sunday night, and window seats were readily available. My meal was tiger prawns perfectly cooked with tomatoes/basil. For the main, I had ahi tuna tataki-style with pommes anna and a shiitake sauce. Nice mixing of the East and the West.
The ginger creme brulee was really great - the infusion of ginger was a great idea. Can't be too hard to make at home.
I would not call it the greatest restaurant for a big splurge, but it was perfect for a work dinner. My colleague from German wanted some "genuine" food, not just touristy stuff down in Union Square. He seemed to like it.
The wine list seemed a little pricey to me, but they had some interesting choices.
I'd recommend the place for a work dinner - good place for a conversation.
