vodka pokeballs gone wrong

So I tried making this with next to no experience making candy. I cut up the gummies, bought larger molds for normal sized pokeballs, but the first attempt at melting the gummies managed to boil for a brief period. The recipe says not to, but I figured it still might work. Poured the vodka gummy soup into the molds and froze it.

4-6 hours later I try to remove the unfinished of the 5 ( only had enough gummies for 4.5 red halves, so I wanted to try the trash one). It took 5 minutes to remove what seemed like a mixture of gummy and superglue from the mold. It was holding shape except for the sticking-to everything issue.

So my question is: are they ruined? My friend suggested the hotter candy is cooked the harder it will become, but heat seems like how I got into this problem in the first place... Any advice?
