Viva Fresh Mexican

This past weekend I went on a horseback riding trip from the Sunset Ranch. Our destination was Viva Fresh Mexican on Riverside Dr in Burbank.

We had a group of about 15 people. There was plenty of room in the restaurant, the tables weren't crunched together. The service was always prompt and friendly. It has a good atmosphere - casual, and they didn't mind a group of dusty horse riders.

I ordered chicken mole, quite a few folks ordered fajitas, the lady next to me had something that was kind of like a deep fried burrito. We had nachos for an appetizer. They served complimentary fresh chips and salsa.

Everything was fresh, not too salty, the fajita filling came to the table still sizzling on their plates. The chips were hot and crisp. The salsa was fresh and tasty. My only small complaint was that the mole sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste. But the chicken was nice and tender.

They had a large bar, and a live band. Despite a sore behind from all that riding, it was a very enjoyable evening.
