Hey all,

LOTS and LOTS of outer borough spots in the new Village Voice best of. In fact Queens and Brooklyn dominate by far. Siestema, the food critic must live in Brooklyn or Queens for all the love he shows us!!

Of the Brooklyn spots that are included, one is my local neighborhood fave, Mryrtle Thai! Here's what he had to say about it:

"Brooklyn has no shortage of glitzy cocktail-driven Thai spots. Yet none can match MYRTLE THAI, where the larbs are every bit as good as Sripraphai's, and fish sauce flows like ketchup at a Greek diner."

I eat at Myrtle Thai at least once a week, so I second his opinion.

Here are other Brooklyn spots on the list (I'll leave it to a Queens dweller to post those!) Have any of tried these?

"Best Use of Potatoes"- QUITO LUZ DE AMERICA

"Chillest Chilaquiles"-EL PAISA

"Choicest Charcuterie"- TOP ONE

"Choicest Cheesecake" JUNIOR'S (a surprise I must say as I've heard mixed reviews lately)

"Cleverest Restaurant Name"- MAGIC DAVID PIZZA (also supposed to have delish pizza, aside from name)

"Coziest Cuban"-FRANKLIN CORNER STORE

"Crispiest Calamari"-ROCCO'S CALAMARI

"Dandiest Dim Sum"-WORLD TONG

"Fanciest Fish Cakes"- BLEU DRAWES (this place is yummy, I second this!)

"Heaviest Heros"-FRANK'S PIZZA

"Kookiest Koshary"- SIWA GRILL

"Least Horrible Franchise/Brooklyn"- POLLO CAMPERO

"Magnificent Mole"-EL HUIPIL

"Most Excellent Espresso"-CAFÉ ESPRESSO

"Most Innovative Mac and Cheese"-DE BAJAN BUS STOP

"Most Osmotic Salad"-DUSHANBE

"Most Savory Slope Carryout"-KINARA

"Nerviest Name"-SCHNITZEL KING

"Nicest Neapolitan Pizza"-PEPERONCINO

"Slickest Regular Slice"- J&V PIZZERIA

"Spiciest Hot Wings"-LUTHER'S FRIED CHICKEN

"Superior Cemitas"- TAQUERIA COCOYOC

"Wackiest Wine Bar"-TOTAL WINE BAR

"Wildest Williamsburger"-SWEETWATER
