I was wondering if you have seen any VN resto with this style of goi cuon (rice paper salad roll) on the menu.
I have had it before at the famous Bistro B in Dallas, as well as in the DC area. Bistro B in Dallas has a variety of goi cuon that come like this...I think my fave was the chao tom (shrimp cake on sugar cane stick). It is just a regular goi cuon with the noodle and salad and protein (like chao tom or what have you) plus a deep fried wheat flour eggroll wrapper rolled into the shape of a cigar and rolled inside of the goi cuon.
The texture contrast of the crunchy eggroll wrapper next to the meats and noodle dipped in the dipping sauce is just amazing.
Have you come across this in Houston?
