Verdura Report ( The Berkshires )

niccole | Jan 31, 2006 08:40 PM

i went to verdura tonight for my 1st time with my 2 sisters. we each got a GC for christmas so we had a girls night out. i have been wanting to go for a while, although hearing totally mixed reviews. i write this a little buzzed, so bear with me.

this is what i had heard- the food is really good but the service sucks and its way overpriced....well, ITS TRUE.

we walked in at 6:30pm and the place was empty, we were literally the only table in there. our server came over right away, and was friendly enough, but didnt know ANYTHING about the menu. they had this funky martini on the menu that my sister wanted to order, it had 3 really weird ingrediants none of us had even heard of ( some flowers...) and the server had no idea what any of them were.

so we ordered our drinks and it took about 15 minutes to get them ( again, we are the ONLY table )...

we get our drinks and ask a few questions about the menu, what certain things are, and again, the server had to go ask because she had no idea. ( but was very nice )

we ordered:
2 watercress salads with pear, gorgonzola, and pecans
lobster rissoto app
calamari app
beef tenderloin dinner
scallop dinner
goat cheese ravioli app ( i had 2 apps for dinner )

everything was good, nothing was great. the steak was ordered MR, and was VERY RAW.

for dessert we had the creme brulee, tiramisu, and some chocolate pistachio thing.

honestly, the best part of the food was: the salad, and the small almond cookie that came with the creme brulee- thats sad :(

after tax and tip it was $268 for 3 of us!!!!

way over priced, not so good service, and OK food...

i dont need to go back...

going to john andrews this saturday night with another GC we got from the holidays...will report back...there will be 7 of us that night...
