Veganopolis (PDX)

I've been couple of times in the last few weeks.
I've had the Marinated Tofu Sandwich twice and the Almond Pate Sandwich once.
And a cup of their vegetable soup.
All were very good.
Very fresh tasting. The Marinated Tofu was served warm and was quite tasty. I didn't like the almond pate quite as much but just a personal preference- nothing negative about the sandwich. It rather reminded me of an egg salad sandwich....
But all the vegetable on the sandwiches were good quality and seemed freshly sliced.
They have rotating daily specials which sound intriguing and I will have to try soon.
Sandwiches are $5, with chips $5.50/$6.

I like the atmosphere as well but the service needs some work. They are probably still working out some bugs but my first visit with a sandwich and soup- they just forgot about it. Then when I asked they scrambled to get it done and then for got the sandwich with the soup - had to point out that they were together.
The last two times have been better- a bit slow.
And I did go once when a take out order was going to be 15 - 20 min (not really take out now is it?)
So they need to organize their counter and speed it up a bit, but if you go when it is a bit quite you should be fine and the food is worth it.
The atmosphere is nice and Veganopolis the bright walls, open spaces and colorful art will be inviting on the winter days and just as inviting on the sunny ones. It will definitely become a regular during my lunch hour.
